What starts as a normal day quickly turns into an extraordinary adventure involving frognapping, enchanted swans, talking animals, giants, and more. I loved how Flinn blended familiar tales like The Elves and the Shoemaker, The Frog Prince, and The Six Swans with lesser-known stories, creating a unique and thrilling journey that feels fresh even for readers familiar with the classics.

The book shines in its humor and lighthearted tone. Johnny’s perspective is relatable and fun, and his sudden plunge into magical chaos makes for a very entertaining read. Princess Victoriana adds excitement and glamour, while the interactions with magical creatures and talking animals keep the story lively and whimsical. Johnny’s personal growth is a strong part of the story; he learns to take risks, trust himself, and navigate challenges he never imagined.
