When a romantic Shakespeare scene-reading with her crush turns humiliating, Jan feels more starcrossed than Juliet. She never seems to say the right thing around guys, unlike her best It Girl friend, who knows the moves and lines to catch an older, adorable, sophisticated boyfriend. If only Jan could write and star in her own reality . . .
But in spit of feeling that the forces of the universe have it in for her, Jan's about to learn that in lilfe and romance, being a Not It Girl has some major rewards.

This was a pretty good book that was well written. The whole story is about the main character Jan (whose name is pronounced Yahn) trying to get with Josh. It wasn't exactly my thing. Overall it was a good plot, but sometimes along the way I found myself a little annoyed by Jan's best friend. While trying to act more mature, she just looked so much more immature. Plus, Jan herself didn't always make the smartest moves. I liked Jan's little "inserts" of what she would like to happen, I thought they were entertaining and lightened the book a bit more.
Confessions Of a Not It Girl was a page turner, and kept you wanting to know what happened next.

Yahn has a problem. She cant seem to find a boyfriend, plus her "it" best friend has had loads of them already! When Yahn meets one that she thinks might just be the one, it doesn't look like it will end up the way she plans. They have a fight, make up, but then everything starts getting awkward. Plus, they were never girlfriend, boyfriend in the first place! Will her dream come true? Or will she just have to keep searching? Find out in "Confessions of A Not It Girl" by Melissa Kantor.

This wasn't one of the best books that I have read. Almost all of it was about boys and didn't really have a main plot other than Yahn getting a boyfriend and about her best friends boyfriend (who thinks shes 21). It was still pretty fun to read though, it was light and different.

Jan Miller is the opposite of her friend Rebecca, the New York "It" girl. Jan has many embarrassing moments, is not at all confident, and is forever worrying about her big butt. When her crush Josh starts to take an interest in her, she isn't sure what's going on and usually ends up turning into a drooling mess. This book was very funny and chronicles the life of Jan who has college, crushes, and a famous and perfect best friend to deal with. I highly advise that you read this book.

Jan is a Manhatten-Native senior in high school going through a rather embellished teenage existence.

Her best friend Rebecca Larkin, has been named one of New York's 10 It Girls, which doesn't help Jan's self-esteem. She is not a particular whiny character, as she seems to be honest.

Every girl has felt all of the things in this book. Embarrassment, love, loss, pressure, and sibling rivalry.

This book has everything that is inside a teenage girl's mind: emotion, fragileness, and insanity.

This is a really good book!It is a fun read. It takes you through her life step by step.

Jan Miller is a normal american teenager. With a normal life. Its her best friends life that is more then normal. Her best friend is one of the It Girls and is blessed with the fact that she is flawless. Jan is nothing like that. With the butt that is as big as a bus she has nothing better to do but to write out college applications. Then Josh comes. Jan soons finds herself baby-sitting again for Josh's little sister and being around him more and more. Until Henry. Henry is Josh's cousin who if anything is the exact opposite of Josh and who happens to have a crush on Jan. When Jan miss reads Josh's signals into him trying to hook them up she finds herself hating him. Then he rides in the car with Jan and her mom to a college interveiw and she can't help but fall back in love with him.Then she meets Leslie. Leslie is the beautiful "girlfriend" of Josh's. Will Josh and Jan end up together at the end? Read to find out!
