Jane and Allison are best friends. Jane doesn't care about what everyone thinks, while Allison is the exact opposite. When Big-Little day comes along, Allison is determined to get a Little. Only disaster strikes and she's left committing the most embarrassing moment of her life. And she has no Little. The next day Allison comes to school beautiful and smarta changed girl with a whole new attitude. And what's Jane left doing? Trying to save Allison from the devil. With the help of a strangely cute (and wise) boy named Owen.

The interesting concept of this book really drawls you in. I found this book to be interesting, and funny with some action and romance. It's easy to read so the chapters fly by and before you know it you've finished the book.

Senior year just isn't what Jane Jarvis thought it would be. First, her best friend Allison manages to mess up the big-little ceremony, and embarrass herself by throwing up. In the end, Jane and Ally are left little-less, until Lanalee Tremone steps in to be Ally's little.

The next day, Ally's got a new haircut, new clothes and a new attitude. Ally claims the demon gave it all to her, but Jane has a hard time believing, until she trades places with Ally, and has to fight for a way out.

I loved Devilish, it was so fresh, and exciting. Watching Jane try to understand something she doesn't believe in, it was hilarious. Lanalee is the perfect antagonist, with her apparent "sweetness". It was fun to watch Jane outsmart the demon, and save them all.

When Jane finds out her friend has made a deal with the devil she try's to figure out what to do.Â With the help of a freshman named Owen they try to free Allison but, it was not as easy as it seems.Â Allison loves her new life the devil has given her, new clothes and money to do what ever she wants to do.Â What will it take for Allison to see the bad decision she made and will she listen to Jane?Â Jane needs to save her best friend but how will she when a devil is almost impossible to defeat?Â I highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!

The cover was the reason this book caught my eye. It's so cute and totally diferent from other books. The only thing that creeped me out were the eyes because they're kinda...weird-looking. But other than that, very chic. Love the cupcake too. :D

For the characters, at first, I thought Ally was really annoying because she kept whining about how her life sucks and that no one wanted to be her "freshman". It was this ritual where seniors would get a freshman for a day and spend time with them. [Personally, I don't want to have a "freshman". They're loud and annoying and RUDE excluding all bloggers though. :] So when she sold her soul to the devil, I was like: ha, that sucks for you! But Jane, being the total best bestfriend ever, wanted to save Ally's soul as well as her own. Oh, and the devil? It turns out that it was a type of corporation that makes up the term: devil. People could be promoted to be in the higher ranks so they could have more powers. But anyway, the "devil" that Ally sold her soul to happened to be Lanalee, a new girl at the Catholic school. So Ally and Jane gets thrown into this whole evil vs. good war where things start to get muddled and lines are blurred. I suggest to you read this book if you haven't because the plot is original (I've been saying this a lot...but it's true) and the characters were well-developed, somewhat.

I haven't read many books like this, it's so different but in a good way. Two girls, Jane and Allison, have been school outcasts and best friends for a long time. So it's obvious that Jane would notice when her best friend sells her soul to the devil. The devil comes in the form of Lanalee, a smart, worldly girl with a love for cupcakes. She is sinister and wants as many souls as she can get. Jane plans to save Allison but gets betrayed and needs help from someone else. The author takes a simple, common theme such as high-school popularity and changes it completely when she puts blatant evil on the scene.

Jane and her best friend, ALly, are not the most popular girls in thier school, and they had usually never minded. But after a terrible, embarrising accident and the appearence of a mysterious girl named lanalee, A strange chain of events occurs. Janemust realize the strange fact that Ally has sold her soul to the devil.

I loved this book. It was hilarious, it made you think, and you could never be sure of what was going to happen next. I ended up reading it twice because it was just so good.

After too-smart-for-her-own-good Jane's best friend Allison humiliates herself at their all-girl school's Big-Little event, the Allison Jane knows disappears. All of a sudden Allison has cute clothes, a new hairstyle, and a trendy cell phone. She's also hanging out with a new sophomore, Lanalee. With their friendship teetering, Jane finds out, with the help of a freshman boy, that Allison has sold her soul to the devil, who is masquerading as a--you guessed it--sophomore at Saint Teresa's.

Now, Jane's not one to believe in ridiculous things like devils. She jokingly enters into a contract with Lanalee to get Allison's soul back. However, strange things begin to happen: her history book bursts into flames, and her freshman friend, Owen, kills himself...and lives. Jane is forced to realize that her soul is in danger. And now the only way she can reclaim it is if she gets a kiss from her ex-boyfriend, Elton, by midnight at the very mysterious Poodle Prom.

DEVILISH is fast-paced and slight out there at times, but I loved reading it. Jane, with her wit and semi-acerbic commentary on everything, makes for a wonderful protagonist. I found myself laughing out loud many times. Anyone who has enjoyed Maureen Johnson's previous books or anyone who loves a fast and wacky read will not regret reading DEVILISH.
