Dragon Rider is one of my favorite books!  My whole family loves Cornelia Funke, but especially this fantastic adventure of an orphaned boy who makes friends with a dragon and a brownie (cat-like creature).  They must fly great distances and overcome many dangerous obstacles to find a safe place for the dragons to move to so that they are not discovered by people.  This book is full of suspense, adventure and incredible creatures.

Great book. The story is a great children's read and if you have a child you should give them this book. The dragon was so cute and was a fun addition along with the mangy cat. It was a great book filled with great characters. It may be no harry potter but really fills in the gap left behind. Fun and really teaches you the meaning of family and where home truly is.

On their mystical and magical journey they encounter new friends and enemies. This book has confirmed that Cornelia Funke should be on my "Favorite Authors" list.

This book is about Firedrake and sorrel who set out to find the rim of heaven where dragons can live in peace. They meet ben who helps them get an map from a rat. They all journey on meet a genie and ultimatly come up with a plan to kill Nettlebrand the golden one.

Cornelia Funke does it again!Once again cornelia delivers a exceptional story that just keeps you reading on,an true need to find out how Firedrake,the young dragon,Sorrel,a feisty brownie who just LOVES mushrooms,Ben,a small boy with a big heart prevails over Nettlebrand the evil one.

Eh...
It was okay, but just okay. I thought it was going to be good (being written by one of my favorite authors, Cornellia Funke, and all.) but, like I sayed...just okay. Average. I usually like talking animals and books about great adventures alot! This, for some reason, was a bit different...
But don't take my word for it because I know some paople who really like it!

ONE DAY,A RAT NAMED"RAT" ALERTS FIREDRAKE,A DRAGON,THAT HUMANS ARE SOON TO INVADE THE DRAGON WORLD.
SO,FIREDRAKE,AND A BROWNIE NAMED SORREL,TRAVEL TO THE HUMAN WORLD AND MEET AN ORPHAN NAMED BEN WHILE HIDING WHILE THE HUMANS ARE CHASING THEM.
THE THREE OF THEM GO ON ALL THESE ADVENTURES AND MEET LOTS OF NEW FRIENDS,AND A FEW ENIMIES ALONG THE WAY,TO TRY AND FIND THE LAND THAT NOONE BELIEVES EXISTS,A HIDING PLACE FOR THE DRAGONS TO LIVE IN PEACE.
