Ernestine and her little brother Charleston are trying to bring on the zombie apocalypse. After doing a spell, they believe to have succeeded, but they lose their zombie time and time again. Bringing about the apocalypse isn't as easy as Ernestine anticipated.

When someone tries to murder Mrs. MacGillicuddie, Ernestine must put aside the zombie apocalypse to try to solve the case. There are several people who would benefit from the death of Mrs. MacGillicuddie because she's rich and has a huge inheritance to pass on. There's her greedy son Rodney, her granddaughter Aurora, her butler Eduardo, The Swanson twins, and a few others. It's up to Ernestine to uncover who's the real culprit before it's too late.

ERNESTINE, CATASTROPHE QUEEN is full of humor and fun, lively characters. I love Ernestine and this was a different take on a mystery. I enjoyed the zombie apocalypse parts and Ernestine's spunky and witty character is very entertaining.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of middle grade humor and mystery with a twist of zombies.
