Before Gaia gives lots of insight on Gaia's past. It tells the story of how her father, Tom, and her mother, Katia, met. It also tells of Oliver, Gaia's uncle Tom's twin, loves Katia and the lengths he would go to get her. The story tells of Oliver's conversion to the "evil side" and how Gaia's first signs of fearlessness were recognized.
I loved this book just as much as the other books in the series. It was so interesting to read about how Katia and Tom met, and it answered a lot of unanswered questions. It was overall a great book.
