Flight #116 is Down!

"Flight #116 is Down!" is a great book about young people stepping up to the plate in the event of a catastrophe. In the book, a 747 crashes in Heidi's yard. Heidi is an average student, an average person, someone that fades in the background and doesn't like anything unplanned.
The other main character of the book is Patrick, a 17 year-old junior EMT on the local rescue squad. He's been wanting something terrible to happen - not because he's a horrible person, but because he's a trained EMT and wants a chance to prove himself.
Throughout the book, we grow to like Heidi and Patrick very much. We also become quite attached to most of the passengers on the plane.
My 7th graders love this book and I'd recommend it highly to that age group.

wow. this book was sooo good. i couldnt put it down once! i loved it. this is what its about:

Patrick is a young volunteer for search and rescue. then a jumbo jet crashes in the back yard of a girl named Heidi. Alone, heidi first tries to help save some of the passangers in the plane. Later, Patrick comes with a hundred of other people to help the dying passangers. this book was great because it shows how humans tend to unite when we are in trouble.

Sometime around 5:41 PM a plan crases in New York. The plan didn't crash just anywhere normal is Crashed in the woods behind Heidi's house. So heidi starts to help the hurt soon millions come to help. This night will change Heidi's life but why? read and you'll find out!
