Alane Fergusons The Christopher killer is the first in the Forensic Mysteries series. Cameryn Mahoney is a 17-year-old from the tiny town of Silverton, Colorado. She lives with her Irish grandmother whom she calls Mammaw, and her father Pat who is the is the county coroner. Cammie wants to be a forensic pathologist when she grows up so her dad lets her be his assistant coroner. When investigating a death she meets Justin, a new deputy with ties to her missing mother, who apparently hasnt forgotten her daughter. When suddenly her close friend Rachel is murdered by a serial killer dubbed The Christopher Killer, it is up to her and her best friends Lyric and Adam to bring the killer to justice.
This is definitely not a book for the weak stomached. The descriptions of the murder scene and autopsy are very gruesome. It talks about controversial subjects like religion and psychics. In general, this is definitely not a book for everyone. I really enjoyed it and cant wait to read the others but I would be very cautious when recommending The Christopher Killer. I dont think it would be suitable for teens under 16. If youre interesting in forensics, CSI, or murder mysteries, then this is definitely a book youll really enjoy.
