Foxglove is the second book in the series, and wow, this sequel is really interesting. After finishing it, it became clear that its main purpose is to connect Belladonna to the next book in the series. That might sound like it’s just “filler,” but it doesn’t feel that way at all. Adalyn Grace wrote it in a way that keeps you invested while setting up what’s coming next, and it works surprisingly well.

The gothic vibes continue in full force, and the mysterious family history keeps you guessing. The spooky, atmospheric setting is just as strong as in the first book, which makes the world feel consistent and immersive. While the story itself is more transitional than the first book, it still gave me moments of excitement and intrigue, and it made me even more eager to see what happens in the next installment.

I also found myself really connecting to the characters here, especially Blythe, who quickly became a favorite. The way the story builds on the first book while hinting at future events makes it feel like a perfect bridge to the finale. Honestly, this series is shaping up to be a favorite of mine, and it’s the perfect trilogy to read during fall if you’re looking for something atmospheric and a little haunting.
Good Points
- Keeps the gothic atmosphere from the first book

- Expands the mysterious family history

- Transitional story that connects the first and third books well

- Perfect fall read!
