This book makes me miss childhood - well a little. Freak is a big-hearted genius of a boy in a small body. Mighty is the opposite. When Kevin (Freak) moves next door to Maxwell (Mighty) they strike up a great friendship and come to depend on eachother. Max carries Kevin around on his shoulders and Kevin teaches Max many things. It seems that what one of them lacks the other supplies. They go on crazy adventures together and learn from eachother. They get the name Freak the Mighty because before they became friends they were picked on by bullies, and afterwards, noone wanted to mess with the small kid with the brains and the big kid with the muscle. It is a great book and the characters are people you root for.
