I love the gossip girl series. Its filled with gossip, scandal, and mischief. Its exciting to see how the other half lives in their upper east side apartments. It fun to see how they party and still, somehow do well in school. You are able to see how their social circle works. Who's the leader and which ones are the newbies? Reading gossip girl is addicting. I didntthink i would like this type of book, but I love it!

If you're into mindlessly fun and juicy teen novels welcome to paradise. If you're into un-superficial novels do not pick up this book. Repeat do not pick up this book.
If you love gossip, hookups, betrayal, lies and secrets in books pick up this book.
In a way, the mysterious Gossip Girl has biting wit. In a way.
The plot is that Serena, Blair's former best friend comes back from boarding school. All her former friends are acting a tad icy to her.
But Serena did something very bad with Blair's stoner boyfriend Nate (kind of a wimp) in 10th grade. And when Blair finds out, well she really doesn't like Serena.
Juicy.
Read the books and watch the show,
Emily TT

I read this book in 7th grade. when i started reading it i thought to myself 'wow, this book is really trashy, but still very good and interesting.'i kept reading and couldn't stop. i got alot of my girlfriends to start reading them. and now that the show is out were thrilled, its better than i could have ever imagined seeing it on tv than just in my mind. (i do have to be honest though i thought dan would be alot more nerdy and dorky!) when gossop girl comes on every week, i record it on my tv, and all of my friends sleepover and we sit down and watch it together. to laugh, cry, and yell at the characters for the things they did, and didn't. gossip girl is a great book and tv series and i would recomend it to anyone looking for great drama and excitment. my favorite character by far deffinatly is blaire, her courage, strength, and desire to take serinas place while shes gone reminds me of my life and my school. i love gossip girl! i need to get the other books, im really behind! but it must be doing well there are so many books, so little time! i hope gossip girl is still out untill i die, becase i will still be reading and watching.

The Clique books used to be what I would read for this sort of thing--- but I really felt like I outgrew them. So I picked up Gossip Girl. Wow-- what an improvement! The quality of writing is much better, and I am very addicted to them!! There are scandals, heartbreak, and of course, gossip :) All these ingredients are put together for a very exciting and light read. It's definitely not very thought-provoking or life-changing material, but it is surely fun and entertaining. I love the series!

This book was amazing! It was such a dirty, guilty book to read it almost made me feel bad for loving it so much. Almost. Also it made me feel better about the way I live my life & how I wouldn't do half the things that these people my age are doing. It's crazy! I think that anyone wishing to get out of their own life should read this book. like I said before... this book was amazing! READ IT!

This first novel of Cecily von Ziegesar's best-selling series is not a disappointment. This book whisks you into the lives of NYC's elite and sets the stage for the preceding books in the series. If you haven't read this book yet, then what are you waiting for?! Get inside the secret club called Gossip Girl and you won't be dissappointed!

I just finished this book like two weeks ago and i can definitely say it was even better than the first book. I really want to find out if Blair gets into Yale. And her and Nate have come "close" so many times its not even funny. Get to the point and the other characters need to stop interfereing! And whats up with Jenny and Nate? Its like, hello? what about blair? it still kept me reading though. Great book, Cecily Von Ziegsar!

Within the covers of this book you'll find the juciest gossip on the most interesting girls on New York's Upper East Side. You "enter the world of Gossip Girl - a world inhabited by the city's most fabulous crowd; a world of jealousy, betrayal, and naughty pictures on the sides of buses".

When I first saw and heard about the Gossip Girl books I wasn't that interested. My sister wanted to read them though, so I bought the first one. At first I wasn't that into it... and then it caught me, as I've heard these books are known to do. Now I think I might be addicted. I think it might have something to do with the fact that reading about there messed up lives makes me not think about my messed up life, whatever it is though, the gossip is good. I can't help wondering, who is Gossip Girl? Do we know her as a character, or is she just a quiet bystander in the drama? I'm not sure that this is really that appropriate for younger, middle school girls, due to the fact that some might not understand that the behavior of most of these girls is not good. I'm sure some younger girls will be able to handle it well though.

Do you like Sex & The City? Well here are the books for the younger set, for us teenagers. Gossip Girl - about betrayal, gossip - obviously, and the lives of the rich Upper East Side residents. The book revolves mainly around six characters:
Vanessa: an ambitious emo/goth who wants to be a film maker.
Nate: a rich, hot guy who lives in the Upper East Side.
Jenny: not to so rich, a big-boobed freshman.
Dan: Jenny's brother, a poet who is in love with Vanessa
Serena: the most beautiful, and the richest girl in the whole story who gets all the guys
Blair: the rich bitch who is Nate's girlfriends
The book focuses mostly on how rich the girls are and how they use/waste their money. Readers, it seems, in my experience, become very jealous of the charachter's unsubstantial yet exciting party-filled lives.
We know what happens to the girls and how they feel. I love the way Cecil Von Ziegasar tells the stories. You really should read this book. It's not very substantial because of its subject but it's a laugh and you'll have fun. Maybe, like the rest of us, you'll get hooked to them!
