Hopeless is a really emotional read that hits hard right from the start. It follows Sky, a girl who has grown up sheltered, and Dean, a boy she meets who completely changes her world. The story slowly uncovers secrets from Sky’s past that are shocking and heartbreaking. The writing is easy to follow, and even though some parts are intense, it pulls you in so much that it’s hard to put down. I found myself feeling a mix of sadness, anger, and hope as the story went on.
What I liked most was how the book handles heavy topics with sensitivity while still keeping the story engaging. Sky and Dean’s relationship is messy and emotional, but it feels real, and their growth over the story is meaningful. Even though some parts are sad or shocking, there’s a strong sense of healing and understanding by the end. Overall, it’s a story about trauma, love, and the ways people try to cope with their past.
