Hush, Hush the story of a fallen angel who wants to be human, but it may come at a great cost for him and the people he cares about(which are so few). Nora is a average teen girl with average problem, Marcie Millar, and with an average best friend Vee. But her world turns upside down when a bad boy, Patch, comes to town and stumbles on her life, first as her biology partner, later, much more.

I was interesting in reading this book since I saw the cover, gorgeous. But for some reason didn't pick it up until this opportunity (free e-copy) presented itself. It stared a bit slow for me, with not much going on, but as it progressed it started getting better.

The characters and the story are really well written. There were times in the story when I was surprised but mostly it was a bit predictable.

There is so much sexual tension between Nora and Patch, it practically jumping out of the pages. Nora wasn't really jumping for me as a tough heroine or something like it, but she seems real which is good too. In the contrary, Patch is totally out there. He amuses me.

I loved the fictionalized biblical features on this book, The Book Of Enoch, Adan and Eve, and the Nephilim. Thou, the best feature on this book is Patch. He is a mysterious character that after finishing reading Hush, Hush, I still feel like I don't know him much; but what I know about him, makes me really like him and want more. I feel like this book has a bit of a Twilight vibe to it and some phrasing seems similar. But, whatever, I enjoyed it. It was a good read. 4 Stars

Why I Loved It: I used that last quote to give an example of the humor to be found in the series. They are have this whole sarcasm kind of thing going on incorporated into Nora and Patch's flirting that I adored. I mean it was fabulous. Just saying. Anyways, moving on. I was not expecting to love this book. The reviews are good, true, but I had never read a fallen angel type of book. Really I had never read anything about angels. Until now. Hush, Hush took me completely by surprise, and it was all pleasant feelings and happy thoughts.

Ok so the run-down on the book? Nora is living this average life, spending loads of time with her best friend Vee *who is seriously the tits*, and studying and spending lots of time home alone with her mom out of town. Then Patch comes to town and changes her world forever. He is confusing and mind-blowingly cute, and he seems like he can't decide if he wants to kiss or kill her. *That's a bit of a conundrum there.* Anyways, Nora is swept away into this world of fallen angels and their vassals and other such things. Really, there is no way to come out of such experiences the same.

The book is full of action, stupid decisions on Nora's part, and lots of Patch saving the day with his hot self. You may want to yell at Nora at times, but such urges will pass. Vee is also pretty hysterical and incredibly enduring. All in all, I thought the book was pretty awesome.

Who Should Read It: Fans of paranormal, angel books, and people willing to try something new. Here you go. I know the series is older, and I am seriously behind getting around to reading it.

So when I got done reading Becca Fitzpatrick’s "Hush, Hush" I was left with one overriding question: Why in the heck is this thing called "Hush, Hush?" Nobody was quiet in this thing or ever shushed for that matter. I just really think this is a misnomer. To the book’s credit, however, the cover is fascinating, and any questions I was left with from the title were answered by the stunning graphics.

This book kept me hooked. You just know all along that something spiritual is about to happen eventually, and with that knowledge you just can’t put the book down. When the spiritual-ness does reveal itself, I was finally satisfied. The book definitely does deliver, but it just teaches the reader a lesson in patience. I need to learn to slow my roll every now and then and just have faith that the storyline will deliver, as it absolutely does in "Hush, Hush." Now I’m heading for the sequel.

This book started out really slow for me and I was finding it difficult to get into it. I've heard all the hype so I was expecting something fantastic and I felt like I was being let down. And then I made it to the middle. It was about that time when it really hooked me and pulled me in.

Everything seemed...forced in the beginning. It felt like Patch and Nora were just two random people that got thrown together simply so they could make a story. Obviously, that's kind of what a book is about, but the reader isn't supposed to be able to feel it. Finally, I got to the good stuff and things were explained a little better which made the story flow A LOT better.

The heat between Nora and Patch was crazy. Normally, I'm pretty good with the cutesy relationship stuff, but Hush, Hush got me hungry for something more. I want the next book right now just so I can see how Nora and Patch get, ahem, closer.

I also really enjoyed the take on angels here. It was quite a bit darker than your typical angel book, but it also had a few new things thrown in to spice up the mix.

Final thoughts: If for some reason you haven't read this yet, go out and pick it up. Though the beginning may be slow, confusing, and seem like things are just thrown in to create a story, you MUST stick with it

I heard this book was meant to be amazing, but when I read it I was slightly disappointed, but only slightly. I hoped it would be as addicting as City of Bones was, as that also had half angel people in it, but it wasn't. But still forget all that bad stuff I said and lets go on to the good stuff. The plot is really smart and clever, it really got hold of me. I thought the fallen angel, Patch, was a brilliant idea, and the evil half angel dude, lets say I didn't expect that to happen. All in all this book is a great read, I recommend it to all those fellow young adults who like dark romance, like me!!!

Okay, so I've heard several mixed reviews about this book and I just want you all to know that it actually is really good. I think the people who'll like it though have to be really into dark romances and super hot bad boys (Patch), but either way, it's still amazing. The main character (Nora) is just a bit bipolar, and Patch is just a tad strange, but set that aside and you'll fall in love with them both.

After hearing all the hype about Hush, Hush, I realized two things.

I'd cave and buy the book eventually.

I was terrified that it wouldn't live up to my expectations.

Upon reading it, I was surprised to find that Hush, Hush was
an intense, creative, and overall well-written book. It was definitely
a page-turner, proof being that I stayed up until 6AM on a school night
to finish it.

I was impressed that it was Becca Fitzpatrick's
debut novel. The writing style is wonderful, and her take on
"angelology" adds a fresh new perspective to the genre of YA
fantasy/paranormal. I definitely think that Becca has great potential
as an author and I'm excited to see what else she'll come up with in
the future.

While I enjoyed Hush, Hush,
there was something about it that I can't put my finger on that kept me
from giving it a 5. I think it might have been that I couldn't quite
understand why Patch was in
love with Nora. I felt like there wasn't a really good reason why Nora
somehow cracked his shell after so many years. Furthermore, the ending
was a bit predictable, but I must admit that it was a good way to wrap
everything up.

Despite that little issue, I really enjoyed Hush, Hush and I'm anxiously awaiting the publication of its sequel, Crescendo. I'd recommend picking this one up on your next book store run!

This book is obviously going to be compared to Twilight; the parallels are there. Sometimes, I think a certain books popularity can be a good thing there were numerous YA fantasy series after the success of Harry Potter and some of them were quite good.
Hush Hush is also quite good.  The author listened to the criticism of Twilight and has made some efforts to correct some of the glaring problems.  The bad boy in Hush Hush, Patch, seems to be really bad, maybe a stalker, maybe he attacked a girl with a flashlight. Patch could take a sparkly vampire with his eyes closed. But he is increasing attractive to Nora, and any female who has ever had a thing for bad boys can see why. Nora also makes efforts to avoid Patch, and there are real reasons why she doesnt tell anyone about Patch, even when everyone is warning her to stay away from him.
The pacing is well done, the book moves right along. Most of the characters are well depicted; I loved Noras quirky friend Vee. I think Nora could have been fleshed out a bit more, I didnt quite understand why someone as fun and funny as Vee would hang out with Nora.
I enjoyed this book enough to watch for other books by this author.

So what can I say that hundreds of other teenage girls havent already said? Should we talk about Twilight and the eerie similarities that many Twi-hards claim to have seen? Or should we talk about how OMG PATCH IS SO DREAMY *sigh/giggle*? Er forget I just said that.

So lets talk about Twilight and Hush, Hush and how Fitzpatrick is glaringly obvious that shes stealing Meyers work of art despite the fact Twilight has many similar traits in a majority of YA novels and vampire novels. Key word is vampire where Hush, Hush is obviously fallen angel. If that doesnt clue you in then you obviously need to back away from the Twilight books and the sparkling vampires because in no way will you ever be Edwards lover. Face it. Its true.

So you claim the biology class is all Twilight? Seriously though? Really!? Come on, freaking 10 pages of a book screams POSER, HYPOCRITE, and TWILIGHT STEALER!? Its high schooleveryone has biology! Although if it were up to me, I would like the two to meet up in Chemistry just for the cheesy punslets put some chemistry between usor something similar.

So lets talk about Edward and Patch. Patch is the dark, edgy, sexy version of Edward. I guess you can say hes wilder. That being said the entire novel is a darker theme. The term fallen angel can be accounted for this. Like Adam and Eve, Patch took the forbidden fruit. Whether he succeeded or failed it doesnt matter, in this one act his wings were ripped. In order to finally get what he has always wished for, Nora is the one person who can help him.

Hush, Hush was provocative and addicting. It was a novel that demanded to be inhaled in one sitting alone. The characters come off the pages like a black and white movie and a splash red lipstick or blood for dramatic effect. The rippling cause and effect with a dastardly villain in a pair of killer pumps shoots fire throughout the novelboth literally and figuratively.

Nora, headstrong, knows what to do most of the time which was a relief from contrasting heroines who can barely walk a traight line. Patch&well you already heard what I have to say about him. Together we can only hope that the sequel will bring us more giggles, swooning, and the constant omg omg omg squeal!

Overall: In order to possess a copy of this book I had willingly sold my kidney, liver, and spleen. Do I regret this decision? Absolutely not.
