Senior Lilly has a lot on her plate, which includes prom-which she's not so excited about- trying not to flunk history, working at the local Burger Queen, and spending time with her cute boyfriend Max. Lilly has a secret, though. A huge secret, revealed after an accident, causes Max's annoying best friend, Ezra, to turn into a vampire. Lilly isn't really seventeen years old but rather over a hundred. She used to be a vampire and thought resettling in a Florida town would help her be normal. Seems that isn't true, as her ex-boyfriend Cassius hasn't forgotten her and shows up to make her a vampire...again. Add to that another fact that her friends, like Sarita, also have a secret. A secret that might be used against her and newly turned Ezra, whom Lilly is finding herself attracted to.

What worked: A shout-out to the 80s, CW vampire shows, and complete with vampires and witches. A compelling voice that drew me in.

The dialogue is punchy and humorous. Kind of like the old CW vampire TV shows. Sarita reminds me of Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which the witches are vampire hunters. Only this might be a slight problem for Sarita, as Lilly used to be a vampire.

The romance is a slow burn. Lilly fights against the attraction as she is still Max's girlfriend. When Ezra turns into a newbie vampire, that's when things change for all the friends.

Secrets, vampires, witches, and even a heist to find a mysterious bloodstone that is rumored to change a vampire back into a human make this one fast-paced, fun read. Perfect for fans of paranormals with action, humor, and romance tied into one.
Good Points
1. Fun, engaging
2. Shout-out to CW vampire TV series
