I really liked Eldest. I think that it is better than the first book in the series, which is a first for me because I find that sequels are often rushed and there is not a lot of thought put into them.

This book has the same concept as the first book with Eragon fighting along-side Saphira, but in this one, Christopher Paolini also incorporated the brother of Eragon more and the adventures the whole village had due to Eragon's actions.

It is hard to understand this book without reading the first book and so I suggest to anyone that is planning to read this, read the first nook before.

this is the best book ever, Eragon becomes an elf,
saphira is in love with gladear, and eragon is still maddly inlove with arya, and she, even though she doesnt show it, likes eragon. this is the best novel in the history of novels. i strongly suggest you read this book, after eragon, itwont make any sense if you read it in reverse.

Ok I have heard some pretty nasty stuff on this book but I'm betting that there all like 30 and people need to grow up or better yet stay young and learn to appreciate stuff. Paolini is a new writter he doesn't need to be perfect. He didn't even intend to do anything with it at first it was just a hobby and he was intending to make it something that he would like to read not for the whole world or something like that. I personally look up to him as inspiring and any fantasy lover should read this book. Also for anyone that is putting him down or saying that he didn't do anything original i'll just say that I would love to see any book that someone like myself would like more. I recomand this book to everyone aged between 13-16 and even older people.

To finish this off I'd like to say that I'm 13, male and hope that Paolini go's as far as even releasing a fourth book. By William Smith

Eldest, the newest and most anticipated book of 2005, along with the sixth Harry Potter, made me convince my parents to buy it for me, which they did. It took me a while to read this one, but it was a great read. I read at least two or three chapters a day. Another excellent piece by Paolini and I cannot wait for the third and final book to come out.

Eldest....I would not say that this book was better than Eragon...but at least as good. In other words...I LOVED IT!!! Eragon travels to Ellesmera, land of the elves, to complete his Dragon Rider training.
Opens with a turn and ends with a twist!!! Oh and in this sequal we not only find out about what Eragon is up to, but also his cousin, Roran. Please READ ERAGON FIRST! If you don't then it is probably very hard to understand...
I know you'll love it!!!

this is the second book that CP has done. it appeals to all ages that have been captivated by books like lord of the rings or harry potter.I think that this is the best book you could read.In this book you find our hero going to the land of the elves with saphira and arya the elf to complete is rider training. He also finds out the the woman of nobel birth that he would fall in love with that angela the witch talked about is arya.He also finds another dragon rider and his golden dragon. They teach him as much as they can before he must leave to help the varden with the soon fight but when he is attaked by another rider and he finds out it is murtagh whom he thought dead and it turns out that murtagh is his brother.Even though this book takes elements from other stories it is still different and an excellent book and even though i am only twelve i think that this will really appeal to all ages so read this book becuase it is wonderful.
