Ivy Newt and the Storm Witch is the first book in the new series about Ivy Newt, a little witch, and her friend (a familiar) Tom Wolf. Set on a bat-shaped island, Miracula is full of magic, mischief, and drama that young people are bound to enjoy. There are castles and spooky forests, broomsticks and flying carpets, and ALL kinds of witches – Sand Witches, Cunning Folk, Book Wizards, and, of course, the evil Storm Witch. This chapter book raises essential topics such as justice, standing up to bullies, courage, and supporting your friends. It is an absolute delight accompanied by the most lovely black-and-white illustrations by Magda Brol, a map, and a two-page gallery depicting the main characters. The chapters are the perfect length for a confident reader who is moving into chapter books and wants a more lengthy type of story, and this one is perfect as it is only 176 pages. This is perfect for fans of Winnie the Witch, The Worst Witch, and Isadora Moon.
