Johnny Tremain is a vain young apprentice. I had to read this book for a school assignment. I don't think i would be one to pick it up off the shelves. After analizing it in class, i realized its not THAT bad. I found the book a little boring as it went on and one. However, this book did teach a lesson. The Boston Tea party is the setting time period. I enjoy learning about history, therefore i did learn a lot from this book. There is a little bit of a twisted romance in the story, but thats minor. Rab is my favorite character in this book. You'll grow to love him too! A terrible thing happens to Johnny in this story, SPOILER as he is melting silver it burns his hand and he can no longer be a silversmith. :/
Not my favorite. Not the worst.
age range in my opinion 12-13
