I really love Lurlene McDaniels' work. She really raises awareness for people whose lives have been touched by terminal diseases. But she always brings a message that applies to us all.
This book is about a girl who goes to Africa with the Peace Corps. There, her eyes are opened about the hardships people face everyday. And for her the meaning of life changes. She realizes that her life had always been great but she has never appreciated it. She wants to help a young orphaned girl by bringing the girl's sister, but the journey to get is hard what with the countries in constant turmoil. She also falls for a young man. He is very compassionate and decides to make the trip.
But through unfortunate series of events he dies in a plane crash.
Although she is distraught she decides to bring the girl herself and achieves it.
Her time in Africa is done and she returns home. Her life is the same yet she is changed. Read on to discover what happens next. I swear to you, you won't be dissapointed.
