A Fantastic Classic

I read and re-read these books constantly as a little girl. There's a magic to the story, the historical details that paint a vivid picture of a different time, and the relationship between Laura and her family that just transport the reader. Highly recommend the entire series.

Fun For Young and Old

The I Spy series is such a fun series! My boys loved these books when they were younger, and now my toddler enjoys finding things as well. A lovely way to spend thirty minutes together on the couch!

Loved

Our family loves the Berenstein Bears, and this book is no exception. Lovely details, a sweet family relationship, and wonderful interaction between the bears and creation. It's a fun way to help your kids notice the details of creation waiting right outside their door!

Fascinating

A highly entertaining debut from start to finish. I really enjoyed this book! It's hard to put down once you start reading. Action, adventure, heartbreak, betrayal, and survival. Loved it! It's told from a dual POV, and I liked being in both Day's and June's heads while reading. I would've...

Soooo Fabulous

I had no expectations going into this book. I knew it was a retelling of Cinderella, but that was it. Wow, was I in for a wonderful surprise! This book is unlike anything you've ever read. Trust me. So unique and compelling. The world is post-apocalyptical, cyborgs are second-class citizens,...

An Adventure!

What a cast of interesting characters! And such an imaginative adventure. As a mom of boys, I can say with fervor that Mr. Twain nailed the psyche of the tween boy on the head. There's humor, drama, rebellion, misbehavior, consequences, uncertain relationships, crushes, family stuff, and it all reads like...

An Adventure Indeed

I don't know how many times I've re-read this book. Every time, I find new treasures in the pages. The world building is incomparable. The adventure is thrilling. The characters are vivid and unique. And after reading this book, the words "my precious" now send chills up my spine. Love...

Wonderful

Such an absorbing story. From the detailed descriptions of life in the 1840's to Laura's journey into young womanhood, this is a lovely addition to the Little House series. From the first page, the reader is transported back in time. Loved it!

Loved it!

This was an impulse buy for me, and I put off reading it for a long time. I won't make that mistake with the sequels. The writing style is spare and utterly compelling. The characters come to life, the dreams were vivid and sometimes scary, and I gobbled this book...

Creative and Interesting

This is a solidly written story with a complex world of shades and ghosts and a government agency devoted to controlling them both. It's a very smooth read, and by the second half, I was thoroughly engrossed in the story. I'm sorry to say that the character of Logan didn't...

An Intriguing Book

The premise of this book is intriguing. The writing is accomplished. The difficult questions raised about the value of life and how far science is willing to go (and the consequences of that) are engrossing. I just wanted a little bit more from the story. The pacing felt a bit...

It Was OK

I think this book will definitely have its fans. The plot and the characters are interesting. The story as a whole fell a little short of what I wanted. I felt like the writing was "thin." I wanted more detail, a tighter storyline, and just ... more. But, I also...

Fun!

This story was delightful. If you've only seen the movie, you're missing out. As usual, the book is so much richer in content and nuance than the movie. :) Ms. Cabot delivers a fun, witty story with insights into family, love, and what it means to believe in yourself. ...

Simply Stunning

I'm not sure I can do this book justice in this review. It is absolutely stunning. From the first word, I was totally captivated, not just by Briony's voice (which is compelling and authentic), not just by the plot (which is full of delicious twists and turns), not just by...
