About This Book:
BabyVision Patterns is based on Baby Science, which finds that babies notice the visual patterns of nature and the buildings around them. The images in this book have been designed to include the elements of patterns that grab babies’ attention such as repetition, symmetry and curves.
Building on the success of Look Touch Learn, BabyVision has been developed with a leading university baby lab. A bold and contrasting palette of colors is optimally suited to infant retinas and looks completely different to more traditional books for babies.
Each book in the new BabyVision series is designed to promote early visual development through targeted stimulation, using topics such as repetition, optical illusions, odd one out and sequencing.

colorful board book
PATTERNS is a simple board book that introduces the concept of matching for babies. The book includes an illustration from around nature along with something man-made and three words about it on each page spread.
What I loved: This board book will work well for infants who love to explore visually. The book includes bright colors that highlight the patterns from nature and things that are man-made (for instance, a thorny branch and a cheese grater). There are a few words on each page that somewhat describe the elements of what they are seeing.
What left me wanting more: I am not sure the patterns were clear on every page, and although they are colorful, the takeaway was likewise not obvious enough for little learners. That being said, children can still enjoy looking even without any lessons.
Final verdict: PATTERNS is a colorful board book for infants that will work best for children who love exploring bright visual images. This would work best as a fun book to look through rather than a learning tool for patterns.
