Kissing Kate is a really good book about best friend's who go to a end-of-summer house party and, after one of them gets drunk, end up having a make-out session. Kate (the friend that was drunk) started ignoring Lissa after that night. For about a month they wouldn't talk to each other. So they both make other friends. After they both start dating, they realize that it just isn't the same as being together, but being together is just as uncomfortable as well. After having talked some things out, Lissa and Kate try to be friends again, but Lissa just can't shake the feelings she has for Kate, and Kate refuses to act on her feeling towards Lissa. This being to complicated, Lissa comes out to her new found friend Ariel (also known as Kimberly) and finds out that even if she does have feelings for Kate and is a lesbian, she's still going to have friends that love her.
