As soon as Kevin lays eyes on Vanessa Wishart, he has one goal, to kiss her. Unfortunately, this seems virtually impossible as he cannot utter a simple phrase when she is around him. When the Principal assigns him to show Vanessa around, Kevin is elated. Between mumbling and quick conversations, Kevin finds out that Vanessa shares his love of photography. Kevin sees this as a sign that they are meant to be.
Kevin turns to his trusty best friend, Jack, the babe magnet, to help him get Vanessa. Jack thinks he has a surefire plan, as he has years of experience and is currently writing a book about girls. But every plan Jack puts Kevin up to, like making her jealous and playing hard to get, backfire and soon Vanessa hates his guts. Kevin has to do something quick if he wants to make amends with Vanessa and still make her his girlfriend. Kevin ditches Jacks plan and comes up with a plan himself and puts it in motion.
This book was a short, fun read. It was refreshing to read a book from a guys point of view. Cheshires writing style is humorous and I really liked reading it. Kissing Vanessa reminded me a bit of the book Hard Cash by Kate Cann. I look forward to reading more books by Cheshire.
