In Volume 2 of Life Really Socks, Freddy, Ruggles, and Hanks are back and travel to the Pinky Toe Kingdom, which is a realm of cute baby socks, where they enroll in a royal contest. They join this contest in order to win the Dial of Desires, a powerful artifact that would help Freddy find Peter. But this journey isn’t going to be easy; the heroes have to go into the Iron Mountain in order to win. Through this adventure, they will encounter steaming geysers, molten lava, raging waterfalls, and more, but it seems that their biggest challenge is not losing themselves to their desires.

What I Liked: This book does a great job of introducing you to new aspects of the Sock-Verse, such as Pinky Toe Kingdom, in which we meet a variety of baby socks. This part of the Sock Verse is adorable, with each page being vibrant and colorful, using various shades of pink. Through the competition, we get introduced to multiple other socks as well as some enemies that we encountered in volume 1 of this graphic novel series.

As the tone of the book shifts the colors of the illustrations change along with the tone. The shift goes from being pink when we are engaging with those of Pinky Toe Kingdom to being dark with black borders when we are inside of Iron Mountain. These shifts allow for you to be placed into different settings and feel as if you are joining the three heroes on their adventure.

Final Verdict: Life Really Socks: Quest for Iron Mountain is a thrilling adventure where our new friends are on an amazing adventure in which they encounter various other challengers, and obstacles. This book will leave you wanting more from this series and wanting not only to see what’s in store for our three heroess but to learn more about the different parts of this world that you’ve fallen in love with. This is perfect if you are looking for a graphic novel to read, and you enjoy vibrant illustrations, world building, and adventure.
