I found this book very weird and really quite sad at times. I would be careful that kids be at least 14 to read this and even older if they are tender hearted or very naive. The idea of kidnapping rape and murder is a little old for some kids. Although I really enjoyed this book, except parts of the ending, there are some adults I know that I would not recommend it to due to disturbing content.
Overall,this book is for the hearty mature reader.
