I haven't read the published version yet but if it is as enticing  as the online version was I know for a fact I'm going to absolutely love it. Just the online version had me sitting there i the hottest room of my uncles townhouse this summer with no a/c staring at the computer screen for hours. Laughter and sobbing and even a little bit of me talking to the screen was heard throughout the townhouse. I sat there and it took me about 4 days to read everything she had up there and was in tears and anger when she left me hanging! I read the first chapter of the book she posted online and I really really want to finish it now!! The only thing I didn't get this Christmas that I wanted was my very on personal copy! I've been scouring Barnes And Nobles and just about every other book store in my area and have had no luck in my search! Boome is very talented and I wish her much success!!!

The book was great. I sat down, read it, and couldn't stop. This is definitely something I can read again and again and still enjoy it. It definitely pulled me into the character and I loved it. Great job Kat! I can't wait for your next book.

It's been a long time since I've ever sat down and read a book, espeically after I got my hands on a PS2 back in 8th grade. Now I'm a part time college student working full time as a house keeper for a nursing home. So naturally time is not on my side.
When I got the book I skipped chapter one (since I already read it online as a free preview) and picked up where I last left off. For the first time in years, I actually sat down to read a book. And when I wasn't sitting down, I was making up excuses to sit down and read it. (Luckily I didn't get into trouble with my stepdad about it! XD)
Everything about this book was wonderful - it made me think of reading The Outsiders when I saw the contrast between Mina and Jaiden. And I felt just like Mina, a hopeless romantic, and could relate to the heartache she experienced towards Kit when he got a girlfriend. But most importantly, I think Bomee couldn't have illustrated the scene any better when Kit leaves his muse and wants Mina to be his new one. In fact, if I could have rewritten that part, I think the only thing I would have done was have Mina say, "Is that all I am to you? Not even a friend that has stuck by you from thick to thickest and thin to thinest?"
It was an awesome book, and a total pick me up for me considering how chaotic it's been lately. I was looking forward to the book to begin with, and even moreso when Bomee told me it was on it's way to my house. The book was more than just worth the wait; it was like an early Christmas present.
I just pray that I'll be able to read any more books that Bomee publishes, and maybe recieve a review from her too if I ever publish my writings.

I will write a longer review when i get some time to sit down and concentrate.
I have to say, the differences from the online version do not detract
in any way. I absolutley loved the new story and greatly anticipate your next book, Serpentine Spell ^_^

Maid for Me by Kat Lieu proves to be a wonderful journey through Mina Lins experiences with her mother Kaila, her best friend and crush Kiterin, the rich boy Jaiden, and the rest of the cast. Juggling with teenage drama and a childish mother, Mina shows that a teenage girl can be independent, resourceful, cunning, and strong individual. The cast of characters was comprised of a wide variety of personalities and attitudes, such as the ever popular, and secretly a gold-digger, girlfriend, to the stern butler, who has a pure, traditionalist heart, and many more diverse personalities. Concerning the use with the characters, there is the wonderful contrast between Kiterin Forrests and Jaiden Daniels. The best friend and the rich boy may not have an exceeding amount of face to face interaction, but the differences between the two are still extremely apparent ant tangible, allowing the reader to truly understand Minas feelings between the two of them. The only flaw that I noticed was that a part of two of the story moved extremely fast. However, these bouts of fast story were easily forgotten as the story kept a realistic feel, since none of the characters magically changed and turn over new leaves almost instantly. The changes within the characters actually occurred over time, keeping them realistic. With this use of realism, the story actually felt as if it actually could have, or would have happened in real life, and is not simply a novel. Plus, the added suspense that accompanied the stalker served to have; this story transcended a simple teenage romance novel, into something much more wonderful. Kat Lieu has created a wonderful story and a definite read for anyone who likes their romance dramas with some action, suspense, and spectacular cast of characters. I hold nothing but anticipation for her next upcoming novel Serpentine Spell and anything else she has in the works.

I had read Maid for Me, the online version found on fictionpress by Kat Lieu two summers ago and I was hooked, so I begged and begged my dad for his credit card to buy the ebook online. The book version is very different from the Internet version and this is Kat's debut, self-published novel so I was very, very impressed. The cover was done by her sister and it looks like a manga and it reminds me of a manga too.
The writing is crisp though I think there are some grammatical issues here and there, nothing too big. What I love about the story is the characters, especially Mina Lin. This is like a Pride and Prejudice for teens, with a twist, a Cinderella Story where the pauper-princess Mina doesn't care if she ends up with Prince Charming or not because there's so much more on her mind. She's a great role model because even though there's a million obstacles in her life, she doesn't lament or get depressed-- she always chooses to fight instead of running away. She's a fun character-- you can laugh and cry with her. I highly recommend this light, fun and fast read. People might think the premise is cliched-- girl meets rich boy and saves rich boy, but don't forget, it's the good writing and characters that really count!
