I started reading this series with some fear, I havent had any
opportunity to read Meg Cabot before, but Im so glad I finally did.
The story talks about a girl named Susannah "Suze" Simon, who is a
Mediator, people who can talk to the dead. Suzes life changes
drastically when she moves to California with her mother, her
stepfather, and her three stepbrothers to an old house, where she meets
a super hot and good-looking guy... who is dead!
The story is really funny, and I really enjoyed reading this books.
Theres romance, mystery, some action, comedy. I didnt get bored at
any point of the story! Its really easy to read. No complicated words
and no long descriptions.
In all the series you get variety of characters. In every book appears
new ghosts looking for help and some new mediators. The main characters
are amazing& Im really going to miss Suze, Jesse and Father Dom!
I really liked The Mediator series& and I will keep an eye on Meg
Cabot. So& If you havent read this series yet, do it right now! You
don't know what you're missing .

This is my first book by Meg Cabot and I very much enjoyed the book. I got this book from my local library and read it in a day. Ive picked up and set down this book at least four times before I finally decided to take it home with me. I am glad I did.
Suze sees ghosts, she has always seen ghosts, and she is not afraid of them. She helps them to cross over to where ever they are suppose to go; she is Mediator.
This book was very entertaining and I had a hard time putting it down. It was funny, cute, and intriguing. At first I did not think that I was going to like Suze. She acts too confident like she has all the answers when it comes to ghosts and how to deal with them. On the other hand I did like her confidence, especially how she stands up for herself and her friends against the popular girls in the school. At the new school she meet a priest who sees ghost like her and for the first time there is someone who she can confide in and identify with. But for some reason she does not take an advantage of this, but rather still prefers to do things her own way.
I had hard time believing that Suzie can remember seeing ghosts when she was two years old. In the book she tells us how she remembers seeing them as early as age two. I find this little bit stretched because how many of us can remember when we were two or even three years of age. Even though seeing a ghost is a very big and significant thing in persons life, her memories of seeing ghosts when she was two is somewhat unbelievable.
I liked Suzes new family, her three new step-brothers, I found it funny that she gave them all nicknames. Also, I found the relationship between her and her ghost Jesse intriguing and I want to read more to see what happens. I very much enjoyed reading about Jesses character and how he got where he is. I hope we find out more as to why he remains behind and why he does not need Suzes help.
Overall, this was a very good read; the story was well written and plot was moving along, there were no dry spell. All the characters were interesting and well developed, Suzes character grows throughout the book. I am kind of disappointed at myself for not reading this series sooner.
I give this book 4 STARS out of 5 STARS.

this book is great and at the end it always makes you want to hurry up and get the other book.Suze is going to live with her mom and step dad with 3 step brother. so far Suze is a normal teenage girl with a family even if they were her step dad and step brothers but unlike normal teenage girls Suze sees ghost people that are looking for help. that is why she doesnt like were she is going to live and old house, which means generations of ghost probably seeking for help but there is only 1 ghost she would prefer 100 other ghost and have her annoying new room mate ghost. he is annoying but he is also hot , too bad he is dead.

Shadowland has all the ingredients for a great fiction book. Suze, the main character, is rebellious and tough, at least on the outside, and has a great sense of humor that made me crack up lots of times when I read this book. However, she is not your average sixteen year old and has the talent, or rather curse, to see and communicate with the dead who havent passed on yet. Upon arrival in her new home in California, she immediately meets a ghost at school, who causes trouble and delivers a great dose of action and suspense to the book. But the best part of the book is of course Jesse, the hot male ghost who haunts Suzes new room.

Suze Simon can see dead people. She is a mediator and helps ghosts "go to the other side" by helping them finish their unfinished business with the living.
But, now, hopefully that will all change when Suze moves to California from New York. In California, Suze plans to experience the California dream: surf, sand, and no ghosts. But the last part is proved to be untrue the minute she steps into her bedroom because she finds a hot ghost in her room, named Jesse. The real problem, however, starts on the first day of school when Suze clashes with a ghost with revenge on her mind.

Susannah Simon has just moved across the country to live with her mother, her new stepdad, and her three stepbrothers. She loves the town of Carmel and the Pacific Ocean, but she has MAJOR problems with the house. Particularly as there is a very hot ghost sharing her new bedroom with her.
Suze is a mediator. She sees ghosts and tries to help them move on to the next life by helping them complete a task. Sometimes, however, she is forced to resort to violence. And violence and force will turn out to be everything as she deals with her most vicious ghost yet at her new school: Heather, who committed suicide when her boyfriend broke up with her.
Heather is determined to do anything to regain her old life, and she thinks Suze is taking over her rightful place at school. Heathers increasingly violent nature forces Suze to reluctantly make plans for an exorcism, something that she never likes to do, and something that she hopes Jesse, her ghostly roommate, will stay away from, no matter how much he doesnt want her to do it.
Meg Cabots excellent MEDIATOR series has a catchy start in this first book. Suze is a character, and Jesse the quintessential perfect man. Suzes interesting interactions with the people in her life will amuse readers for the whole entire series. I highly recommend these books.

this is an awesome book. if you like ghost stories mixed with romance and other genres. I really like books that have mixed genres. this author meg cabot is awesome at mixing genres. Just like her famous series, the princess diaries. I love all the books in this series. I think any girl would like them. Some boys might as well.

Suze is a mediator - a liason between the living and the dead. In other words, she sees dead people. And they won't leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom doesn't seem to need her help, which is a relief because Suze has just moved to sunny California and has plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery and surfing instead of spectral visions. But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes its not that easy. There's a ghost with revenge on her mind... and Suze happens to be in the way.
This book was wonderful, as expected, because
Meg Cabot is absolutely amazing. I've never read a book by Cabot that was disappointing and never expect to. Suze was a good main character, expect sometimes she acted ridiculously because she thought she was unstoppable... however, this only adds to her charm.
Once you start the Mediator series you can't stop...

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It really made me wish I was Susannah simons because it was just so good. I think it is very interesting how cabot made simons able to feel the ghosts, like they were solid. After reading this book, I honestly wondered if there were any ghosts in my house. I don't think I have ever been so engrossed in a book before. I would definently reccomend this book to anyone, young or old, girl or boy.
