Once Dead, Twice Shy was a very enjoyable novel. I loved reading about the light and dark reapers, the guardians and the time-keepers.

The plot was very intriguing. There were times when it was a bit confusing but if you read closely and slowly, I'm sure it'll be okay. Well, at first, there was a lot of character-building and exposition so it was pretty confusing. It wasn't until closer to the middle where I finally understood the roles of the dark and light reapers.

I adored Madison. I loved her sense of style. :) She has such a spunky personality that made her immediately likable. Her relationships with Barnabas, the Light Reaper; Josh, her current crush; and Grace, her guardian angel were, to put it shortly, completely adorable. They were all so cute especially Grace. She was way funny. Grace is probably my second favorite character because of her know-it-all cute character. I can just imagine her voice to be this little girls with a slight lilt in her tone.

And Barnabas. He just wants to protect Madison, I get that, however, he's kind of moody...and very demanding. Hahaha.

For Josh, at first, you get the sense that he's a complete jerk but he changes later on into a more refined, mature and likable guy so I can totally see why Madison is interested in him.

The ending was a pretty rushed but since it's a series, I think it should be okay.

Overall, I think Once Dead, Twice Shy is a very interesting book and I recommend it because hello, hot guys? Reapers? Cute guardian angels? What's not to love?
