In this book, Out of the Fire, the main character is Dayle. Dayle, one day, goes to a bonfire out in a field with some of her friends. Something bad happens and there's an explosion. Most of the people who attended the bonfire are okay, except for Dayle. She has serious burns all over her face. Now she must live day to day, looking in the mirror, and based on her burns, she's reminded of the day that she almost died. She used to be a really pretty girl, and now with her new face, she doesn't think highly of herself.
This book, I thought, was really moving and touching. There's so much in this book that it deals with, that I think a lot of kids and teens can understand.
One of the issues is the body image. This once pretty girl now has burns all over her face. She had dreams of being a model and boys had crushes on her. Now she feels like, because of her appearance, everything will be bad for her.
She also has to live day to day with things that she regrets. She wishes that she never went to that bonfire, but everyday when she looks in the mirror, she's reminded of it.
Another issue that is shown in this book is death. Her grandmother died before she had gotten her burns, and another kid died, her boyfriend's best friend, died of pneumonia shortly after Dayle got her burns.
It's a really good book. It's sad in some parts, but I think that anyone who reads it, won't be disappointed. I would recommend this book to anyone.

It was a very inspiring book with a lot of obstacles that Dayle had to overcome. It showed that the bond of family and friends cannot be broken and that it is okay to say goodbye and move on. This book was truly amazing and one of the best books i've read in a long time. The human spirit cannot be broken through this book and it really gives the message that it's what is on the inside that counts, and that letting go can be a good thing along with forgiveness. I highly recommend this book to young readers it truly inspired me. Thank you to the author for writing this book please write more I love your writing.

Dayle has just changed from being a bookwormish nerd to one of the "in" crowd. She's going out with the most popular guy in school, Kevin. She's starting to spend more time with him and ignoring her best friend. On her birthday, instead of going to a concert with her best friend, she goes with kevin and his friends to the moshpit. After drinking and partying, they try to light a campfire, but the ground is wet. Suddenly, there is a big explosion, and Dayle is caught in the middle of it.
Dayle is taken to the hospital, but she survives. About half her body is covered in serious burns, but she deals with it. But what she doesn't realize for a while is that another one of Kevin's friends also got hurt. But he was more seriously hurt than Dayle.
The book talks about what it's like for a person to survive such serious burns and how she lives her life afterward. It talks accepting what happened and moving on. It talks about how, no matter what the situation, friends will never abandon you. This was a really touching book. It was really sad, but inspiring. It had a sad twist, but it was kind of predictable. I think that everyone should read this book. I really liked it a lot.
