Katie lies. A lot. She's cheating on her football player boyfriend with a cute guy from drama club. She's running for Quahog Princess, except she hates quahogs. And then, her former best friend Tommy comes back to town. And he is out to get her. At least&she thinks he's out to get her.

I thought this book was cute. Even though Katie lied a lot, I found her to be a very likeable character.

The book "Pants on fire" was so good..It talks about Ktaie who is a quite a popular girl and who is currently dating her crush since seven grade, a football player, and also making out with a hottie from the drama club but what Kate didn't except was the return of her long time friend Tommy, who has been known as a freak in his town because of he confessed about two students cheating on their SAT, so he was hated by millions, but now he came back to his hometown and he's looking beter than ever, will Kate's perfect life get ruined by his comeback? Just read the rest of the book to find out...

I have read many a Meg Cabot book and love her and her books. Saying that, I was a little disappointed with Pants on Fire; however, I was pleased overall. There were only two things that bothered me a bit while listening to the novel.

The main character is a photographer which isn't the annoying part, but the photographers problem? The same as in most books or movies, the photographer is taking pictures of bland seasides and landscapes instead of focusing on people which is where the best photos lie. I've seen this several times, even in the form of a writer who isn't writing what they know but rather what they think people want to read. It's overused and I was a little disappointed to see it happen in Pants on Fire.

I also disliked the big confession scene. I won't go into details because of spoilers , but it felt a little too convenient and almost forced, like it's time for the climax so here it is.

The great thing about Pants on Fire was that it was a departure from the usual Meg Cabot novel. There was no mousy, shy protagonist. Katie was popular and knew her way around a boy. That unique quality, the laugh-out-loud moments, and the fact that Tommy Sullivan is probably one of Meg's hottest male characters makes this a great book I would recommend reading.

Pants on Fire is about a girl who has a lot going for her, socially and intellectually, who has an encounter with her horrifying past.

I made the book seem really scary and suspenseful, but it's not. It's a light, fairly predictable read with some hidden twists and turns.

I enjoyed this book because it had loads of humor. The main character is far from perfect even though she has that facade. Plus, the boys, as I picture, are very good-looking. There's also a good message behind it.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 because while Pants on Fire is entertaining and enjoyable, it did not leave a lasting impression on me.
