I like Reiss's books but this one almost made me throw it against the wall. Vi is the youngest of triplets and her parents told her she almost died at age six. I hated the way her older sisters called her Baby when she hated the name, how boys at school assumed the sisters were twins but didn't know they were all triplets, how her parents thought she didn't have to help her sisters clean their new building, and especially the way her sisters were mean to her, treated her so badly, and called her a disgrace. I just wish her family would be a little bit nicer to her like how her best friend treats her.

I loved this book. The girl who sits next to me in class brought it once and I was intrigued as soon as I read the inside cover. I absolutely had to get it from the library. As the mystery unravels, you feel as though you're with her through it all, as she not only solves the mystery but also realizes it's all right to be different and revels in the information, asserting herself to do what she has to do. You've probably never gotten a message from the past, but you've probably felt like the odd one out. If so, you could easily identify with Violet, as she learns that parents protect you because they love you and having two sisters who look alike isn't a bad thing, but you don't have to strive to be like them.
In all, Paperquake is a wonderful mix between history, urban legend, and realistic fiction.

I liked this book because I love adventures. Usually I can just put down a book but this one I ended up staying up half of the night once just because it was so good.
