Poor Bobby Pendragon. He didn't know what he was about to get into, with all the quigs, St. Dane, and other baddies that are trying to destroy all of Halla, he just wants to live a normal teenage life. Until his Uncle comes in a suprise visit, and whisks him away in his first adventure that creates the Pendragon book series. This was a great book, and really kicked off the series well. It gave enough background information on who the main characters were before the action really started to get higher up, and the switched points of view from Bobby to Courtney and Mark were really great on telling the sides of the story on the big change in their lives. I didn't like the whole "journal" idea at first (just because I didn't like the type-font....), but as I started reading it, it really helped to piece together a couple of things that were going on in their world and Bobby's (plus, later on in the series, the events going on where Mark and Courtney are at become very important...). Overall, great job on the first book (always important to gain interest in the series), and I'm glad I found it and read it, along with all the other books in the Pendragon series.
