This book reminds me of what a fabulous writer Beverly Cleary is. She perfectly portrays Ramona as the typical little girl learning about life. This book kept me hooked until the very last page. It was such a joy and comfort to read!
This book is about Ramona Quimby. She's in the 2nd grade. Her father has finally found a new job as a cashier, and her mother is working full time now. But Ramona is hoping that her mother stays home more and spends more time with her, like with her older sister Beezus. She wants to be her "mother's girl."
Ramona tries her best to be the perfect little girl and just wants to fit in. She complains that she is not loved and is always seen as a troublemaker. She starts to doubt that her parents love her at all. But really, it is just the opposite. You'll have so much fun reading about Ramona's thoughts, urges, and little adventures. This is what being a little girl is all about!
This heartwarming book is written perfectly. You'll fall in love with the characters, especially cute little Ramona. This series never fails. I recommend it for all ages. Its a great family read for everybody.
