The Battle for Skandia
(Rangers Apprentice #4)

By John Flanagan

After the winter that Will and Evanlyn escaped being slaves
for the Skandians, it is spring. Will and Evanlyn notice the thaw from inside
the hut they were in. One day, Evenlyn goes out hunting. On her way, a giant
arm grabs her and knocks her out. Then the strange figure takes her away. After
a while, Will goes out to search for her. Meanwhile, Halt, a ranger, and Wills
master, and Horace, Wills friend, are just getting in to. Then, they notice a
lot of dead Skanadians with arrows in them. They head farther into Skandia.
Finally, Will finds the camp of men holding Evanlyn hostage. Then, he notices a
man going after her with a knife, trying to kill her. Will pulls out his bow
and shoots the man in the arm. Him and five other men come running towards
Will. Just as Will knows it is the end, an arrow comes out of nowhere. Will
looks where it comes from and it is Halt and Horace. They defeat the men and
take one as a prisoner. They find out he is a Temujai, and that they are
preparing for war. Halt, Horace, Evanlyn, Will head for Hallasham, the capital
of Skandia. There they tell the Skanadians that the Temujai are going to attack
them. The Skanadians team up with them and prepare for war.

Will
they beat the Temujia? Will they not survive? Will Will, Halt, Evanlyn, and
Horace make it back to Arulean, their homeland, safely? Will Ragnack kill
Evanlyn because she is Princess Cassandra? Find out the answers by reading the book!

I thought that the author did an amazing job describing the characters and the
battle scenes. I could see the characters battling in my mind. Although I dont think the author did a good
job describing the setting. I thought will was on a mountain but he really was
on the ground next to a bunch of people.

Though before you read this book you
should read the fist 3. Overall, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars!
