If you have a lot of time, and want to get wrapped up in a story with beautiful language and a twisting plot, READ REBECCA!

The story is told by the main character, whos name we never learn. She is having a flashback about the events of what happened when she suddenly fell in love with and married an extremely rich man, Mr. De Winter, and moved to Manderly (a huge mansion estate) with him.

At Manderely, the narrator (Mrs. De Winter) is constantly reminded of Mr. De Winter's previous wife who died in a tragic drowning accident, Rebecca. Beautifull, witty, intelligent Rebecca. It seems to Mrs. De Winter that her husband never got over Rebecca's death, nor did the servants of Manderly and everyone else around them, who are still loyal to her. Rebecca continues to control Manderly, directly from the grave.

As the narrator continues to live at Manderly, she discovers terrible secrets that shock her and the readers.

Warning, this book is NOT a light read, but it was great nontheless. It's a "gothic" novel & I highly reccomend it.

This is the engaging tale of how a young newlywed must live in the world of her husband's dead wife. The second Mrs De Winter (her first name is never given) uncoveres a secret that could send her husband to jail and unlock the secret of Manderly.

Rebecca is a truly remarkable book in its supense. Though the book lags at times, the ending twistt makes up for it all.

Rebecca is story about the haunting of a first wife in the Manderly Mansion. The book is suspenseful and told through the eyes of the second wife, who wants to discover more about the mysterious Rebecca. It's a mysterious, bone-chilling romance, filled with fire, secrets and ultimately murder.
I enjoyed this tale immensley for its plot was swift, charcters, real and style intruiging.
I recommend it highly.

A young woman marries a man and moves to his estate, only to be hated and threatened by another woman, her husband's dead wife. "Rebecca" has been said to closely resemble the story of Jane Eyre, but this one is more twisted and dark. This book is still too young to be declared a classic, but as time passes, it will become a classic.
