Redwall is an epic book. After I read this, I spent the next two years fanatically reading all of the other books in the series. This story is bound to change your outlook on the intelligence of woodland animals! Don't brush this novel off as being childish just because the main characters are animals. It chronicles the amazing life of Matthias as he goes on a quest to recover the sword of Martin the warrior. It's got action, riddles, songs and descriptions of mouthwatering food. What else could you ask for?

This book starts off mild and slow but soon tells the tale of an evil cat threatening the calm life of the mice of Redwall.  Faced with war, the mice take up arms and in particular, Matthias seeks the sword of Martin the Warrior in order to strike down Cluny and save his home.  There is a quest that Matthias must embark on and a riddle that he must solve in order to accomplish this goal.  This book is an exciting and great read.  I've enjoyed reading it many times.

Have you ever woundered what animals would do if they toke over the world? I thought it would be so boring to have little stupied animals ran about. But to my surprise in Redwall it was the totaly opossiet.
In this book there is and evil rat and his huge army but there is also an good mouse and his comuntie in Redwall.
THe good rat is out on a journey to find a stolin sword of MArtin the worrier. He was tested on his smarts and guts through the whole story.
But the rest up to you to find out what happens nexts.

Action-packed and full of adventure! If you like fantasy/action, this book is for you. My friends recommended this book to me, and I have to admit, they were right when they said that it was one of the best fantasy books of our time:) The first Redwall book is definetely the most memorable, because you get introduced to all the charcters, whose faces are engraved on your brain for a very long time! Great book for sitting in on a cold winter's night and snuggling up with a blanket to read!

As the inhabitants of Redwall Abbey bask in the glorious Summer of the Late Rose, all is quiet and peaceful. But things are not as they seem. Cluny the Scourge, the evil one-eyed rat warlord, is hell-bent on destroying the tranquility as he prepares to fight a bloody battle for the ownership of Redwall. This dazzling story in the Redwall series is packed with all the wit, wisdom, humor, and blood-curdling adventure of the other books in the collection, but has the added bonus of taking the reader right back to the heart and soul of Redwall Abbey and the characters who live there.

I liked this book. It was really good. It was exciting and fast paced.

Readers who like books about animals, fantasy, and battle should read this book.

Cluny the scourge is a giant rat and he is really evil and he is on his way to attack Redwall Abbey. The defender of Redwall is Matthias the mouse and he has to somehow get the help of Martin the Warrior who has been dead for a long time.

I love the Redwall books. All the animal heroes are very distinctive and females fight alongside of the male animals.

This book ROCKS!!!!
It's the first book of the many Redwall books. I suggest reading the Redwall books in the order they were written not chrologically.
This book is about a group of woodland animals who live in an abbey named Redwall, and have to fend of a Rat named Cluny and his hoard from Redwall.
If anyone is bored of reading starting this book will totally get you back into it!

The first book of an odd and quirky series, Redwall details the adventures of mice and other creatures who think, talk, and behave like humans. It's a lengthy read, so I would recommend it to intelligent bookworms with a fondness for fiction and fantasy, maybe between the ages of 9 and 12. If you love the first one, you will love them all. However, readers with faltering patience will not enjoy it.
