Meet Kaitlin Burke. Oh, wait, you already know everything about her: phenomenal star on the soap operaFamily Affairs, best friend with her costar Sky Mackenzie, and voted hottest teen star by practically every magazine out there....Or do you?

Life is not well in Kaitlin's privileged world. Sky, with whom she has never gotten along, is spreading nasty rumors about Kaitlin's prissy personality to the tabloids (descriptions that better suit herself, quite frankly). Her career-crazy parents and pushy publicist seem to be trying to drown her in a ton of work and feature appearances on talk shows. Her only respite is with her best friend Liz, the "normal" daughter of a powerful lawyer, who attends the normal high school of Clark.

Desperate to know what it's like to be a regular teenager, Kaitlin goes undercover as the nerdy Rachel Rogers, British import, at Clark. The experience is so much more than she expected, however. There are annoying Sky-like girls there as well--but "Rachel" makes friends, too, and meets an incredibly cute guy, Austin, who seems to like her for who she really is: a nerdy, Star Wars-obsessed math prodigy.

But Kaitlin is teetering on the edge of her double life. How will she deal with it when it all comes crashing down on top of her?

SECRETS OF MY HOLLYWOOD LIFE has been touted as "what it's really like to be a celebrity 'It' girl" (Us Weekly), but having had no experience in the Hollywood world, I don't know whether that is true or not. What I do know is that it's always nice to have a down-to-earth, unjaded girl for a protagonist, even if Kaitlin's character doesn't really ring to me. Same with the other characters. They're likable...but only to an extent, the same way you'd like, say, your assigned chem lab partner whom you never get to know really well. Still, the book is a fun romp through the L.A. glam life, perfect for those who are tired of looking at it from the self-satisfied top.

If you want to know how it feels to be a celebrity and all the hard challenges you have to face? This is the book for you.

This story is about Kaitlin Burke trying to handle the life of a famous teen. She wishes it was all parties and fun. But it's especially not that.

First she works on this great soap opera Family Affairs since she was two, but the bad thing is she has to work with her enemy side by side evyerday.

Second she feels he isnt getting enough out of life. So she decides to go to an actual school, but with a secret identity. She has made a promise that nobody at her new school with know who she is.

Third, how in the world can she keep a promise, if she's falling for hottie Austin?

Read this book and find out if Kaitlin's secret gets out and if she gets the guy of her dreams.

I don't know why I read books such as these, I've come to hate books such as the Gossip Girl series, A-List series, etc., but I just thought that this book might be a little more.

Well, it accomplished it to some point, but I was still slightly disappointed. The emotions Kaitlin feels are true of what a teen feels, but at times I felt it was somewhat fake.

However, I did like the fact that her character has positive and negative aspects to it, it shows uniqueness and flaw, and makes her real.

Overall, I wasn't able to push myself into the book entirely, but the author does a pretty good job.

Kaitlin Burke is the costar of a famous TV soap, Family Affairs. She has all a girl dreams about: Hollywood. That means: glamourous premieres, designer clothes and a very very exciting life.

But Kaitlin is sixteen and would like to have a break and go to...school, like normal teens.
And she'll do it, even if it means disguise herself.
Here, she'll discover than a student life isn't easier than a Hollywood star's one.
She'll also have to deal with her costar, Sky Mackenzie, who is determined to ruin her career, her new friends and the chance of her Hollywood life!

A really fresh novel I totally loved!
Girls, you'll like it because of the "glamour" and the love side.
Boys, you'll learn many interesting things about girls and stars.
Both, you'll enjoy the Hollywood Secrets Kaitlin provides you.

And maybe, like me, you'll drop a tear.

Jen Calonita shows us both sides of a "Hollywood Life", the light and the darkness of our beloved stars.
A quick and pleasant read, with "something special".

I loved the book. I can't wait for the next one to come out in May. The Book so well written that you realy get to know the charector. You fee Kathlin's feelings too. I loved this book. I feel like it made you really get to know Kathlin. You get to know the pressers of hollywood and what she is going through. She is finding alot about her self. you also get to see what she's learned. I love the ending too. I love this book
