In the final book of the Tillerman family saga, Dicey is twenty-one and finally pursuing her dream of boat building. Life is seemingly going great when she gets her first order, but a series of bad luck-- her shop is burgularized, Gram gets sick, she fights with long-time boyfriend Jeff-- send her closer to despair. The last straw seems to be when her drifter employee, Cisco (who may be more than he appears), takes advantage of her trust. Yet fans of Diocey knows that she is never one to be crushed by the pressures of life. Though this book isn't quite as satisfying as its predecessors, it's nevertheless a worthwhile read.
