"Simon Glass was easy to hate....I guess, really we each hated him for a different reason, but we didn't realize it until the day we killed him." Fat, clumsy Simon Glass is a nerd, a loser who occupies the lowest rung on the high school social ladder. Everyone picks on him -- until Rob Haynes shows up. Rob, a transfer student with charisma to spare, immediately becomes the undisputed leader of the senior class. And he has plans for Simon.

Rob enlists the help of his crew -- wealthy, intellectual Young, ladies' man Bob, and sweet, athletic Coop -- in a mission: Turn sniveling Simon from total freak to would-be prom king.

But as Simon rises to the top of the social ranks, he shows a new confidence and a devious side that power-hungry Rob did not anticipate. And when Simon uncovers a dangerous secret, events darken. The result is disquieting, bone-chilling...and brutal.

Good Points
This book had such a captivating plot! From total geek to popularity king, Simon Glass gets transformed by his "Friends". Page after Page, i would be holding my breath and sitting on the very edge of my seat. That's how good it was.

Young Stewart and his friends are at the top at their school. But the new kid, Rob takes them to new levels.
This is the story of what happens when Rob decides to take the class nerd, Simon Glass, and remake him into a popular kid using master manipulation techniques.

This book is a masterpiece of pacing, so much so that I'm going to use it to demonstrate pacing to my students. In most YA novels pacing is done by a series of mini cliffhangers at the end of each chapter. In this book, the pacing and interest is attained by quotes from the future by minor and major characters at the beginning of each chapter. The quotes are true to the character but don't reveal the whole story. We know we're moving towards an incident, but we're not really sure exactly what the incident is. As the novel goes on, the quotes reveal more and more.

I wouldn't say the book is 100% successful, I don't really buy one character's actions at the end, and that's a fault in character development. But overall, well worth reading.

This book had me holding my breath from page one. As you get through it, it's pretty obvious that the narrator is the killer. He's sitting in prison telling his story of the one guy who proved to be a threat to him and his posse. You can sympathize with him because you know where he's coming from--but you don't excuse his actions and the result of it. This book is fair, though a bit mature and it gets pretty rough and violent in spots. It'll open your eyes and make you think twice about the outcast at your high school. Kids under fourteen should not read this.

I loved this book. I don't usually read thriller/suspense books but I enjoyed it. I felt it truly protrayed how teenagers can be quite disturbing at times. It was a great book. Gail Giles is a good writer.

Simon Glass was the nerdy kid who everyone took advantage of until Rob Haynes transfered to B'Vale. Rob started hanging out with Young, who was a rich kid, the Bobster who was the ladies man, and Coop who was the football star. With their help, Rob decided to turn Simon Glass into the most popular kid in school.

Rob began by taking him shopping and transforming his appearance. Then, slowly, they began working on his image. Rob controlled everything. He wanted everything to go his way, and for a while, it was.

Soon, Simon was at the top of the A-list. He had everything going for him. Finally, to finish Rob's plan was for Simon to win the title of Senior Class Favorite. Simon was successfully nominated, along with Rob. Rob felt that he had everything under control. But what he didn't know was that Simon had plans of his own and things didn't end up pleasantly.

This book was amazing. It was suspensful and kept my attention till the very last sentence. The characters were so real. The storyline may not have been as realistic, but it was so well written. I didn't like the way the author ended the book. This book reminded me of the male book version of She's All That. Everyone should read this book!

Shattering Glass is an awsome edge of your seat read! The book starts out by telling you that the 4 main characters murdered a kid and then throughout the book give you hints to what happened. Each chapter starts out with a quote from someone involved in the story. I couldnt stop reading I had to know what happened next.

This book is so good. Go out and get it right now!! You'll love it!
