Really enjoyed reading this book.  I thought the story was well told and realistic and I like the fact that the book is set in a small town.  This is a book I would recommend for any teen to read.  I like the pace of the story and the fact that you don't know what happens until the very end.  I'm definitely recommending this book to others!

"Shoot the Wounded" by Lynn Dove is probably one of the best Young Adult (YA) books I have read in a very long time.  Once I started to read the book, I couldn't put it down.  As a teacher in a very large high school, I am always on the look out for great reading material for my classroom.  This one I will definitely put in my class library.

This book was amazing. From the moment I started reading it, it kept me intrigued and caught in the story until I finished it. I am so excited to read the next one!
I loved the way the characters mirrored real-life situations, misunderstandings, friendships and families, and the way there are twists and turns at different points. This could be a great start to changing the way youth, and even adults treat one another, especially within the church. Way to go Lynn!

This is such an amazing book!  Couldn't put it down once I started reading it.  I love the main character, Jake.  I wish all guys were like him!  The story deals with some stuff that teens all know about.  It has a great message and it doesn't shy away from tough subjects like teen pregnancy and family violence.  The author keeps it real and relevant.

I finally found a book that both my son and daughter enjoyed and I loved it too!  If you're looking for a book that has a great story, some interesting twists and a great message, Shoot the Wounded is definitely worth the read!  I went on the author's website, www.shootthewounded.org and apparently the sequel is coming out soon.  Can't wait!

"Shoot the Wounded" is a great book and I couldn't put it down.  The characters are believable and the story line engaging.  And it really made me think about the very real consequences of gossip and rumors. I just wish the sequel was already in print!

My son never gets excited about books but this one he couldn't put down and then he told me to read it.  I've got to admit it's a real page turner!  I liked it just as well as my son did.

I got this summary from the book jacket: "Shoot the Wounded is a contemporary Christian novel that deals with relevant social issues such as teen pregnancy and family violence.  Set in the small fictional town of Maplewood, in southern Alberta, best friends Leigh and Ronnie find their friendship and faith challenged when Jake, a good looking Christian boy, moves into their neighbourhood.  Leigh is especially delighted that Jake is paying more attention to her than any other girl at school or church, but what she does not know is that despite his bold declaration of being a follower of Christ, he's carrying a dark secret from his past that has the potential to destroy his integrity and have his friends question the legitimacy of his faith."

I am looking forward to the sequel!

Shoot the Wounded by Lynn Dove is one of the best new novels I have read in a very long time.  It is written for teenagers but I couldn't put it down.  I think this book should be on every required reading list in every school.  I found the characters to be believable, the story line gripping and the overall message of the book powerful.  I am recommending this book to all my friends who have teenagers, it is a must read!

I couldn't stop once I started. It captures the audience no matter the age, and brings them into a believable story. Your right there along with the characters the whole way. Through the good times and the bad times your hoping everything will turn out just the way it should. It brought me back to when I was growing up in a small town. It felt like I was reliving my memories along with the story. I loved it every step of the way.
I am looking forward to more.
