Two teenage girls undergo changes during the 2 weeks that their father goes out of town on a business trip. Lillian is a sex addict who wishes to stop her urges. And Vivian is the school girl who does everything to achieve success in her academics. Their mother, Beatrice, gets love sick when her husband is away and in longing for him, she neglects the needs of her daughters. Lillian and Vivian both change their own lives by doing the unexpected, hanging with new people and wanting more out of life. Henry, their father, wishes for a better wife.
It's complicated, but it goes to show that family is all you have, your foundation. And when you ignore the ones you love, the only one who ends up hurting is yourself.
I loved the shocking outcome of the decisions the two sisters made. In so little as two weeks, they become the complete opposite of their old selves.
Reading this book got me thinking of how much my family means to me, and the value of cherishing them every single day.
