In this book the author introduces you to all the characters in the story. He also explains why the school is funny, and how it was built sideways.He also tells you about a missing floor in the thirty story school.
The author also tells you about a tragedy that happened to Mrs.Gorf, the meanest teacher in that school. After the tragedy, the kids are afraid of their new teacher, because they heard that she was really nice. They never had a nice teacher before. He introduces you to all the students in the class and all their crazy doings. Also why Kathy, a student in Ms. Jewls, class hates everyone she knows.
