Ghost in the Machine by Patrick Carman centers on a mystery about what happened at the Dredge, an old, shut-down mill that ground up the earth in search of gold. Several people died on the Dredge, and a ghost named Old Joe Bush is haunting Ryan and Sarah, the main characters. Ghost in the Machine starts with a creepy video, which immediately grabs your attention and makes you want to read more. As you read on, the pieces of the puzzle start to fit. Towards the end, the story becomes suspenseful and will leave you in awe.

I think Ghost in the Machine is a great book overall because it has a decent amount of scary videos. Some videos, though, aren't that great. Some of them just inform you about what the characters have discovered or what they plan to do next. Also, I love the characters Ryan and Sarah because they don't give no, no matter what.
