Ghost in the Machine, written by Patrick Carman, is an adventure mystery. I am recommending it for ages 10-13. This book is set in a kids journal and all of his adventures and thoughts. Ghost In The Machine also has other books in the series, this one is the second book.
A boy named Ryan is writing about his life and the mysteries that he discovers. The boy has a broken leg and is being separated from his best friend named Sarah. Ryan and Sarah are trying to solve a mystery about an old factory that Ryan's dad worked at. They come across multiple problems and new discoveries along the way. As they try to figure out the mysteries they also communicate in different ways to avoid being caught by their parents.
I find that all the characters are interesting in their own ways. I like that Ryan loves to journal about his life as he tries to solve mysteries. I also like that Ryan always keeps getting in trouble. Sarah also has a weird adventurous liking, and she's always sneaking around the neighborhood.
Overall I think, Ghost In The Machine is a great adventurous book that stays on the main topic most of the time well making fun interruptions. I would say this is a good book for young teens that enjoy lots of adventures.

Good Points
I think there could be more characters other than Sarah, and Ryan
