For fans of Rachel Lynn Solomon and Alice Oseman, this swoony, fast-paced romance stars a teen who falls in love with the lead singer of America's most popular boy band during a whirlwind summer tour.

This is what dreams are made of.

Every teenager in America knows eighteen-year-old Felix Song, the lead singer of the most popular boy band since One Direction. Unfortunately, Natalie Nielsen is no exception. Though she thinks of him more as an annoying rich kid from her hometown than a heartthrob.

Uninterested in stardom, Natalie dreams of honoring her late dad’s legacy and making a positive impact on her beloved Deaf community by revamping her family’s run-down Deaf Center. The issue? She has no money. When Felix's little sister's hearing loss begins to accelerate, he gives Natalie a generous job offer that would help secure the Center’s future: but she must accompany him on tour this summer to teach him ASL.

What begins as a professional arrangement soon morphs into stolen kisses and late-night rendezvous. But as their connection deepens, so do the risks—and when their relationship suddenly takes center stage, it’s not only their hearts but Felix’s career on the line. Amid relentless public scrutiny, contractual obligations, and meddling band members, Natalie must decide if their dreams can co-exist in the spotlight.

What I Liked: This book lets you know of the various fonts that you’ll encounter throughout the book to signify how the characters are speaking. The book manages to teach more about the Deaf community through the interactions that Natalie has with others. It also teaches about other disabilities as well, and how those impact one’s daily life. I don’t want to provide too much of a spoiler, so I’ll let you all see which other disabilities are presented.

The characters in this book are well-developed, and it’s fascinating to get introduced to them through Natalie’s perspective. The short wiki articles about each of the band members were a fantastic addition, as they gave fun facts about the band members that we wouldn’t otherwise know. Each of the band members has a unique personalities and it’s great to see how each of them interacts with Natalie.

The only character about whom I have mixed feelings in the book is Lachlan, at first I felt bad for him due to how the label treats him, but then I was angry at him for his interference. The relationship between Lachlan and Felix is rocky from the start because of the label’s treatment of Lachlan, so for it to get worse was shocking.

This is definitely a slow-burning enemies-to-lovers romance that keeps you hooked on the book, waiting for these two to finally admit their feelings for one another. Throughout the book, the feelings that Felix has for Natalie are apparent, and there is no questioning how he feels. It was pretty obvious that he had ulterior motives for having her be his tutor. Natalie’s feelings were a lot of fun because she started off really disliking Felix because of the image she had painted of him in her head.

Final Verdict: Someone to Daydream About is a sweet enemies-to-lovers book that is perfect for fans of One Direction, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, and Frankly in Love. If you like boy bands, then this is one that you will definitely want to pick up. Not only do you get a view into the life of the band’s members, but also a cute romance between Natalie and Felix.
