Rich is finally going out with Bonny. Bonny is a bit hesitant at first, since Rich rejected her once. But they are finally working things out. Nick and Barb support them fully, helping them to work out their relationship and offer advice along the way. Bonny is still having problems with her mother, Tigger.
Bonny invites her best friend, Liz, over to dinner one day at Richs flat. Liz also brings her strange boyfriend, Kell. A few days later, Bonny gets a phone call from Liz saying that she left with Kell to go to join a commune in Scotland. After the call, Bonny gets a postcard asking for her to rescue Liz. So Bonny and Rich set on an adventure to rescue her.
Along the way, Bonny and Rich have to work out their relationship. Together, they discover that Liz has joined the Community of the Beloveds. When they finally see Liz, they see that she has changed a lot. When Liz is asked if she wants to leave, she immediately says no. Bonny knows that something is wrong, so she and Rich go undercover and pretend to join the community to rescue Liz. What they discover is that Kell had been mistreating Liz and scared her into staying there. So they have to come up with a plan to get her away.
I thought that Speeding was a good conclusion to the trilogy. It was a bit slow in the beginning, but the story got more interesting. I thought that the British slang was really funny, but interesting. Kate Cann can write well from a boys perspective. This is a good book and I would recommend this to my friends.
