Spells & Sleeping Bags, the third book in the Magic in Manhattan series by Sarah Mlynowski, sees Rachel and her sister off to summer camp.

It's good to be away from the muggy city for a few weeks, and it's especially good to be at the same camp that her mega-crush Raf attends. But since Rachel's witchcraft isn't quite up to snuff yet, a few of her spells have been wreaking havoc on her perfectly planned summer. It's especially embarrassing since Liana, the friend-stealing snob from the next bunk, seems to witness every disaster. Can Rachel's sister Miri help get the magic under control before things really start to heat up for the summer?

For a good, fun read, this series can't be beat. Rachel's a charming character who knows she's in over her head but can't quite resist the urge to indulge in her new magical skills.

Light humor is evenly distributed throughout Mlynowski's books, with familiar sarcastic jabs that will keep readers entertained.

With these books, what you see is what you get, and that's saying a lot!
