This book was really great! I couldn't put it down! This is what it is about:
Anna Percy decides to take a break after her best friend Cyn starts going out with the only guy she's ever crushed on, by going to live with the father she hasn't spoken to or seen in a very long time. He lives in Beverly Hills.
Then, she accidently meets Ben Birnbaum on the airplane and is pulled into the world of young Hollywood when she attends the wedding of a famous movie star as his date.
Cammie, Dee, and Sam are not at all pleased when they find this out. Cammie, who had a strong relationship with Ben will do anything it takes to get Ben back from Anna. Dee, who had a one-night-stand with Ben wants him too but won't admit it. Sam, who is secretly in love with Ben, wanted to use the wedding as a chance to snag him for herself.
The night leads to more excrusiating events and it turns into a series. Reading this book is greatly recommended. But if you don't consider yourself very mature, you should not read it. Otherwise, this book is for you!

I had a lot of high hopes for this book/series, but they haven't panned out. I have to admit that I was kind of hoping for a gossip girl- like book, but this is a pale imitation. For one, I never really get into the scene. It feels like my old Barbie Townhouse where you didn't get much in the way of furniture, but walls had pictures of furniture on them-all paper, not substance. The main characters seem too cliched and the whole plot seems too predicatable & too convenient. The only part that felt real to me was the main character purposely wearing a hole-y cashmere sweater because that's what girls where she lived did-because that was authentic. The rest of the book left me cold.

I'd say that this novel and its companions are better than gossip girl books. The A List is the story of Ann Percy who is one of the "fortunate" girls who has looks, money and power. However she finds she needs a change and so she decides to live with her father in Los Angeles on the way to LA she encounters Ben a Princeton student who after taking a liking to her decides to ask her to a celebrity weddng h is invited to. Ann attends and meets his friends Sam, Cammie and Dee and it doesn't take long to discover that they all want Ben and the question is what will they do to get him and which one will win?

Any girl should love this book. Something about it makes me want to stay up and read the whole series! For me to say this, is seriously crazy because i despise reading.

Anna Percy is sick of following the This is How We Do Things Rulebook: East Coast WASP Edition, so she decides leave Manhattan's Upper East Side and go out and visit her father in L.A. On her first day alone, she gets drunk on the plane, hooks up with a guy while drunk on the plane, attends a famous actor's wedding, and ends the day in vinyl pants on a guys boat. But three of L.A.'s "It" Girls, Cammie, Dee, and Sam, are determined to make Anna's stay a miserable one. However, Anna is determined to have a great time, trashing her mother's rulebook in the process.

Anna, bored with her privileged life in Manhattan, moves to live with her father in LA. Within one day she meets a guy on the plane, attends a movie star's wedding and a New Year's party, and meets Cammie, Sam, and Dee, who all want that guy she met. She finds that LA is very different from NY.
The A-List is well-written with a smooth flow and good plot development. Anna is a likeable character. The story got a bit crazy at times, with three girls all in love with Anna's new guy, and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. But as the first book in a series, it is great, and leaves the reader wanting more.

It was honestly one of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down the entire time. I finished before anyone else in my class finshed their books. Every girl needs to read this book. It helped me grow up. I recomend this book to all girls (and guys, if you like this type of book) who need to read something they could relate to. I know I could relate which felt good.

Are you tired of the Gossip Girls yet still want the scoop on high class living? Well Jet on down from the east coast to the west coast for a more sunny high class. Though the books arent full opf beaches and bikini's it does give you a taste of the high life.
The A-list is the 1st book in the A-list series. It intrigues you and captures your mind as you venture on high living territory. I liked this book though I sort of dislike the Gossip Girl series. It has better writing and maybe even better characters.

We've all been culture shocked before but usually it happens in a foreign country, to Anna Percy, a girl born into the realms of dignified elegance in New York's Upper East Side, Hollywood is a foreign country! She becomes culture shocked by the movie lingo, the jealousy and betrayal, and the importance of image. She becomes friends with Sam Sharpe (a very rich and well-known movie producer's daughter) and has many adventures while learning how to deal in Hollywood, though she quickly falls back into her New York ways when it comes to her love life. Will she ever get used to Hollywood?
