Anna Percy has always been the good girl. Shes been the one to sit in the background and watch while best friend, Cynthia Baltres, has had all the fun. After twelve good years of being the audience, Anna Percy decides that shes over due for a change. When her mom and sister leave her stranded in New York, she seizes the opportunity as a sign, packs up her bags, and flies over to LA to pay her dad a long awaited visit.
Before her plane lands in LA, shes gotten more action than she ever has in her lifetime. Shes been hit on by her obnoxious seatmate, downed more vodka than ever, and even been saved by prince charming, better yet, Princeton Hottie, Ben Birbaum. With no time to waste, Anna and Ben quickly become acquaintances, such good ones that Ben feels entitled to invite her to Jackson Sharpes wedding, and an invite Anna could only accept.
With no less than twenty four hours spent in LA, Anna has done a lot more than she got herself ready for, as she suddenly finds her life being entangled with Ben, his friends, and most importantly, the A-List. She thought all she had to worry about was the A-List, Cammie, Sam, and Dee, the it girls but when a night with Ben goes wrong, Anna has a change or heart.
Zoey Dean really gives you an insight on whats going on in the book and its characters, as she jumps from one character to the next. You really get an understanding of whats going on and you feel yourself becoming one with the book. None of your questions go unanswered, well at least not until you finish the book that is. The A-List: A Novel wasnt the first book Id picked from the shelf, if I judged a book by its cover. Lucky for me, I dont, or I would have missed out on a really good book.
I would definitely recommend to fans of the It Girl, Gossip Girl, Clique, and Pretty Little Liars series, put together, they would all make one happy little family. Ill be sure to look into the other books in this series

Out with the old and in with the new! That's Anna's agenda when she takes a notion to move to L.A. with her dad, after her best friend and her long time crush become a couple. On her plane she meets Ben and they have an intense make-out session in the bathroom, a thing the old Anna would never do. He invites her to be his date to Jackson Sharpe's wedding (a famous movie star). Where she meets Sam, Cammie, and Dee, all who are secretly in love with Ben. Anna is hated by all three girls just for being Ben's date.
All the drama of Gossip Girl in California, with different characters of course! It was great. I love the drama and the characters. For fans of Gossip Girl!

At first, when I started to read this book, i had thought, wow, another dumb good girl gone bad book! But after the middle, I realized it was more than that. Anna Percy may have started to change, but she still knew her limits. And the best part of all, was the end. So to those who apparently may seem bored at first, give it a chance, it'll get real better!

This book was pretty good. I couldnt get into it at first but once you get to know the characters you will not be able to put it down. Compared to the other books in the A-List series this one was not as good. Definatly read it so you can read the rest of the series. You will enjoy drama, excitment and fashion as you read about the lives of a bunch of super rich teens from beverly hills.I've read all of them up to Back In Black and i cant wait to find out what happens next in the lives of these crazy teens. You'd think this would be a very predictable series but there are quite a few suprises.

When high class, well-bred Anna Percy goes to live with her father in Beverly Hills, she feels like she has stepped into a whole new, strange world. She's supposed to be there to complete an internship, but she wants to remake herself as a new wild party girl. She finds love with Ben Birnbaum, a handsome boy on the plane and soon she's caught in the unstable, ever-changing world of Beverly Hills.
Sam Sharpe, the daughter of the well-known and loved director, Jackson Sharpe and her friends Dee Young and Cammie Shepard are thoroughly disgruntled when they find Anna Percy jumping into THERE world and snatching up the cute boys and grabbing all the attention.
Who will come out on top after the girl's fight for control? Will Anna ever make it through her stay in California?
Zoey Dean masterfully molds a wacky and wonderful story and keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. I thought that this book was exceptionally good and older readers will enjoy it very much.

I really liked this book because it showed me how the rich live. Constant parties, and going to the spa, but no matter how much money they have, their lives aren't perfect, and not enough money in the world can ever make it. Anna, moved across the country, from New York's richest, to California's righest, and finds out how different the rich live on the other side of the country.

Anna, bored with her privileged life in Manhattan, moves to live with her father in LA. Within one day she meets a guy on the plane, attends a movie star's wedding and a New Year's party, and meets Cammie, Sam, and Dee, who all want that guy she met. She finds that LA is very different from NY.
The A-List is well-written with a smooth flow and good plot development. Anna is a likeable character. The story got a bit crazy at times, with three girls all in love with Anna's new guy, and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger. But as the first book in a series, it is great, and leaves the reader wanting more.

It was honestly one of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down the entire time. I finished before anyone else in my class finshed their books. Every girl needs to read this book. It helped me grow up. I recomend this book to all girls (and guys, if you like this type of book) who need to read something they could relate to. I know I could relate which felt good.

We've all been culture shocked before but usually it happens in a foreign country, to Anna Percy, a girl born into the realms of dignified elegance in New York's Upper East Side, Hollywood is a foreign country! She becomes culture shocked by the movie lingo, the jealousy and betrayal, and the importance of image. She becomes friends with Sam Sharpe (a very rich and well-known movie producer's daughter) and has many adventures while learning how to deal in Hollywood, though she quickly falls back into her New York ways when it comes to her love life. Will she ever get used to Hollywood?
