The Amulet of Samarkand introduces the adventures of Bartimaeus the djinn. The book is hastened along by hilarious footnotes, courtesy of Bartimaeus, himself. It tells the tale of a young boy named Nathaniel who wants revenge on a magician who embarrased him and will do anything to get it. But when he does, unimaginable events are set into motion....
Jonathan Stroud writes a tale that is dark but at the same time humorous and will have the reader grabbing for the next one.
