Apollo, now known as a human teenager named Lester, must restore five Oracles that have gone dark in order to return to his former godly standing. However, he doesn't have his godly powers to help him succeed. THE BURNING MAZE starts out in the Labyrinth where Apollo, Meg and Grover are trying to get out alive and the adventure doesn't stop no matter how many pages you turn.
The character development in THE BURNING MAZE is so incredible. I love that we got Grover back. Apollo is so much fun to read, and we learn some more about Meg's background. I also love all of the interactions between Apollo and Meg. They're so perfect.
Rick Riordan and Greek Mythology are the perfect match and THE BURNING MAZE is just another piece of proof of it. There's action, humor, and so much more compacted into this brilliant novel. I enjoyed it from cover to cover, but have to admit it hurt my heart for reasons I don't want to say to avoid spoiling it.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of mythology, comedy, action, and to those fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series.
